Welcome to Day 11! Today we are going to begin the story of Our Lady of Lourdes.
Daily Devotional and Prayer
We are going to begin praying the first half of Ave Maris Stella. “Ave Maris Stella” is Latin for “Hail, Star of the Sea.” It was written in the Middle Ages, and was first used when praying Vespers (or night prayer). In this prayer, we sing about Mary’s love and compassion for God’s children.
Imagine the ocean…it’s wide, deep, and unpredictable! There are strong winds and scary storms. This hymn reminds us that as we sail through the difficult moments in our lives, Mary is the guiding star that will help direct us to Heaven!
